Volunteer

If you want to learn more about permaculture and gets hands on experience in permaculture design, practice, education and/or research, why not volunteering either at our demonstration urban farm in Midrand, South Africa, or with one of our outreach projects?

Activities can include: vegetable garden maintenance, herb and indigenous plant nursery, water systems management, compost making, small livestock husbandry, bee keeping, earthworks and other infrastructure maintenance  (fence, storage room, …), food forest design and development, land restoration, local seed conservation, community development, indigenous knowledge management, small enterprise development, farm record keeping, website maintenance, educational material development, training/courses assistant, writing grant proposals, and many more!

Volunteering at Ukuvuna is an exciting and fulfilling way to learn more about permaculture, gain valuable skills in sustainable livelihoods and green living, and make a long lasting positive difference!
